Mandatory retirement is the compulsory move of a public servant into inactive status upon reaching the age limit set by law, currently seventy-five for the positions covered by this rule. The duty to step down is automatic and does not depend on the servant’s wishes. Retirement benefits are calculated based on length of contribution and the rules in force, and they may be proportional when the full contribution period has not been completed.
