A court ruling orders INSS (Brazil’s National Social Security Institute), iFood and MetLife to ensure that injured app delivery workers can access social security services, even without an employment relationship or an issued CAT.

Brazil’s Ministry of Social Security is proposing to lower the interest rate cap on INSS (Brazil’s National Social Security Institute) payroll loans, currently 1.85% per month, following the drop in the Selic rate since March 2026.

The operation targets the group believed to be responsible for unauthorized deductions from the benefits of retirees and pensioners of the INSS (Brazil’s National Social Security Institute), and it reaches the operator known as the “Careca do INSS” (“the Bald Man of the INSS”).

INSS (Brazil’s National Social Security Institute) has been using medical exam task forces to move up evaluations for people waiting on disability benefits. In Maceió, a weekend operation handled more than 2,000 extra appointments and brought forward exams that had been scheduled for the following months.
