The return of a retired public servant to active duty, either because the grounds for a disability retirement no longer exist, as confirmed by a new evaluation, or because the Administration needs the servant back, within the conditions set by law. It differs from reintegração (reinstatement after an unlawful dismissal) and recondução (return to a prior position), which involve an unlawful dismissal or a failure to pass the probationary period. Through reversão, the servant resumes his or her duties and rejoins the active workforce.
