This is conduct by a supplier that takes advantage of a consumer‘s vulnerability or imposes an excessive disadvantage. Examples include tying arrangements (venda casada), unjustified refusal to provide service, sending a product that was never ordered, and humiliating or embarrassing debt collection. The law prohibits these practices even if the consumer signed something agreeing to them, because they violate the good faith and the balance that must govern the consumer relationship.
